Not an Ordinary Day.

So today was no ordinary day. When I wok up, I was greeted with a little text from my Ericka explaining she would be absent today during school. I was perfectly fine with this until I got to school and found out that my lovely Whitt would only be with me for a few hours. It was quite sad for me... especially during lunch when the guys spent the period arguing about a killer whale "killing" someone, blue whales being blown up, snuba diving in Mexico, and, of course, there was some kind of mention of farting (their favorite subject). I finally figured out guys are know-it-alls. Let me tell ya, it was the best lunch ever! (that was sai
d in a very sarcastic tone). It wasn't that bad, I guess, but still, it wasnt the same without my two best friends. :( I love them anyways, however, even though they left me coldheartedly!! :)

Oh yes, do let me explain the above picture. It is actually from yesterday, drawn by Miss Ericka as she wrote her "I love.." list. Just thought I would through that out there.

Anyways, back to my day. During 1st, 3rd, 5th, and pretty much every period today, I talked with sparky about his obsession with Bakers Hotel in Mineral Wells. He showed me all the pictures he took of the place yesterday (which were seriously pretty awesome) and explained to me a whole lot about it. It is actually pretty fascinating. We decided that if we could we would buy and and redo it (Mrs. Sullin's idea), but unfortunately that would cost way more money than any of us could possibly afford. So therefore we just continued talking about it and wishing we could somehow go there....

Back to the real world. When school finally let out, I made my way home, after a short stop at the grocery store and me and my mommy made some awesome cinnamon coffee cake. I do believe I ate way too much batter, but it was so worth it :) Then as we were waiting for the French Onion soup to cook for dinner, me, my mom, and my daddy, played a quick round of Jin Rummy ( our favorite card game!) In the end, I dominated, as usual, and that brings me to where I am now.

All in all I had a fairly fantastic day, because even though I didnt get to spend it with everyone I love, I felt pretty amazing so that made up for most of it. Seriously, the one day everyone (including caleb williams!) felt bad, and I felt fantastic... that's a change.

Spanish word of the day: "No!" - Whitt

To end with a song that recently has been one of my favorites:

Hello my friend
I remember when you were
So alive with your wide eyes
Then the light that you had in your heart was stolen
Now you say that it ain't worth stayin'
You wanna run but you're hesitatin'
I'm talkin' to me

Don't let your lights go down
Don't let your fire burn out
somewhere, somebody needs a reason to believe
Why don't you rise up now?
Don't be afraid to stand out
That's how the lost get found
The lost get found

So when you get the chance
Are you gonna take it?
There's a really big world at your fingertips
And you know you have the chance to change it
There's a girl on the streets, she's cryin'
There's a man whose faith is dyin'
Love is calling you

Don't let your lights go down
Don't let your fire burn out
somewhere, somebody needs a reason to believe
Why don't you rise up now?
Don't be afraid to stand out
That's how the lost get found
The lost get found

Why do we go with the flow
Or take an easier road?
Why are we playin' it safe?
Love came to show us the way
Love is a chance we should take
I'm movin' out of the way

Don't let your lights go down
Don't let your fire burn out
somewhere, somebody needs a reason to believe
(Stand out)
Don't let your lights go down
Don't let your fire burn out
(Stand out)
somewhere, somebody needs a reason to believe
Why don't you rise up now?
Don't be afraid to stand out
That's how the lost get found
The lost get found

So when you get the chance
Are you gonna take it?
There's a really big world at your fingertips
And you know you have the chance to change it

Now to explain my epic week so far:

Monday: It was pretty much like any other Monday. Long day at school. Very long day.... Nothing real exciting that I can remember other than Lowry ranting about some Chinese guy at a donut shop (dont ask) and then an epic work out with the best friend. That is pretty much the end of that day :)

Tuesday: This is where all the fun began. First there was the snow. Again. This is like the 5th time we have had snow this year. Epic. Need I say more? So we watched the snow trickle down (or more like dump on us) as we sat in class. Then we made our way to the SOZO presentation during physics where we played some very interesting games (refer to Whitt's blog for specifics). Afterwards we had some very.... interesting.. conversations at lunch. Sex is Mint for marriage. :) When school finally let out (well for us awesome seniors anyhow) we made our way out to the snow for some pictures. Sparky hit me with a few very evil snowballs. Naughty boy. But I got him back, so its all good :)

After we had frozen ourselves silly, we jumped in the car and Ericka, Sparky and I made our way to the Y for some "working out." As you can see from the picture below that went over well. Note to self: Never EVER give Ericka and energy drink. The end.

Today: Unfortunately I cannot begin to tell you about my today because my pictures will not load. Therefore today will have to wait for my next blog post. (Coming soon)

All in all I have had a wonderful week. I love my friends. They are the best thing EVER! They make me happy and I cannot wait to go on a cruise with them this summer.

My dear Freddie

So let me begin by explaining about my "boyfriend." His name is Freddie Ortega and the history of our relationship began the summer before my 11th grade year. As me and my amazing friend Whitney were walking through the mall, we saw the manikin standing in front of Hollister. Some how or another, I ended up taking a picture with him and therefore the tradition began. So last night as me, whitt, and Ericka walked the mall, we found the opportunity arise once again for me to take a picture with my headless boy, hence the picture to the right :)
Anyways, I believe you get the picture. Do not begin to fret, I do not actually have a boyfriend :)

Now to explain a little about my week. I will begin by retelling the embarrassment we lit-critters were put through this last Tuesday (I do believe that ultimately I was the only one with the slightest embarrassment, however). It all began as any normal lit crit day. We sat in the hall together and began reading our VERY boring book entitled "Erewhon" (Nowhere backwards.. with the w and h separated..) After becoming extremely annoyed with its boringness, whitt suggested we sing our "song" which is really "Going to the Chapel" with a three part harmony. It is really tons and tons of fun to sing and if we hadn't been sitting in the middle of the hallway where I felt highly uncomfortable, I would have consented. In the end I did anyways believing no one would hear. So we sang our hearts out (several times) and only a few minutes before it was time to leave, one of the girls in Mrs. Anderson's classroom walked out and said that they could hear us loud and clear in the classroom. Embarrassing much? But it was all good. and rather enjoyable. Oh the fun times we have together :)
Anyways, next thing you know I am driving with my two best friends to Denton to spend the night with the sister and head to TWU the next morning. When we arrived in Denton, we immediately made our way to the mall, where we tried on prom dress after prom dress. It was very entertaining. :) Oh and we got some pretty amazing pictures:

After our little escapade to the mall, we made our way to the local On the Border for an overdue On the Border date. We had a wonderful time stuffing our faces with Chips and hot sauce and some very delicious chicken fajitas. :) We left our waiter a very generous tip and a sweet little thank you note :)

The next morning, we made our way to TWU for our tour around the campus. Fun stuff. After a wonderful lunch at Quiznos we headed over to Yogurt story and had some incredibly delicious frozen yogurt. And then we made our way back to home sweet home.

Overall, I have had a wonderful week so far and I am not looking forward to going back to school tomorrow, but thank goodness it is only for a few more months. I can not wait to join my lovely sister next year with my best friends. Life is great.

Peace, Love, and sprinkles

So this day began as any other normal school day. My alarm went off at 5:30, I didn't hear it, it went off again ten minutes later, I stirred a little, then finally at 6 my backup alarm (yes I have to have a backup) sounded and I woke up immediately. But my victory was short lived when I realized the time. I scurried to get ready and made it out the door 5 minutes late. Good thing I plan for an extra 15. :) Anyways, when I got to school I was greeted by my friends and we all headed to our 1st class: BCIS 2 for some of us. Then me and Ericka began our normal talk, that occurs on monday mornings, as we explained to one another everything we did during the weekend. This usually takes the entire class period and continues after english class. It was a good thing we weren't supposed to do any work during class because it sure wasn't going to happen.

Then came English class where we were greeted by our lovely
Whitney, who had her hair looking way too cute, making Ericka and I feel much jealousy. Thank goodness for "Sense and Sensibility." We have it almost finished, finally, and I must say I have found a new favorite movie to add to my list.

Then there was Economics. The most enjoyable class of my day. That is, of course, all due to Lowry, since he is one of the most entertaining people alive. First, it began as an everyday Lowry class: Lowry begins to tell us about the worksheet, gets distracted for a few minutes, gets back on track, gets distracted.. you get the picture. Well then he suddenly became very excited as he began to rant about how his coffee was potentially gone that he had slaved over during the beginning of 10 minute break... you pretty much just had to be there. It would have made your day. :)

This is just a little illustration to help you to understand just exactly was going on with the coffee:

Continuing: Lunch brought with it many interesting things including hot sauce made by Sparky's mother which I had been craving for many-a-days, us trying to come up with a name for my blog (none of which were good enough for Jake), and then Jake suggesting a name that would really catch people's attention, but just wasnt really my style ;)

Then there was 7th period, but... well.. what is said in 7th period, stays in 7th period. There are a few things of which I can tell. To begin: instead of going to class immediately like any normal goody good would, me and my two best friends made our way to the office to talk to Mr. Wood about getting out for a college day. He said yes, and we made our way out, but not before eyeing the cupcakes that had taunted us since the moment we walked in. Mrs. Berry, being the awesome person she is, however, saw our sad looks and offered them to us. So we walked to class, cupcakes in hand and smiles plastered on our faces. We then showed them to Lowry, who had told us previously we would never get one. And the rest is history... but it does include sprinkles and gum (or rather sprinkles ON gum)

After school, me and Ericka made our way to the Y to work-out. After an hour of intenseness, we headed over to the coffee grinder for a wonderful Bible study to end the day. There is something about sitting around with a group of friends and talking about life. God plays such an important part in the way we live, and the people we are with.

Well that is all for today (I do believe I talk too much). Goodnight.

So this is me..

Less than a week ago, my lovely sister, Natalie, started a blog. She then encouraged me to do the same. I figured it sounded like a good idea considering I love to write and it would be rather fun. So where do I begin? First, by explaining the name of this blog. :) It all started with me shuffling through the songs on my ipod trying desperately to come up with a name worthy of this site. The only name I came up with, however, that was not already taken was "I survived a tornado" and since I have never actually been in a tornado (and it sounded incredibly cheesy) I decided to abandon that strategy. I then thought about today. Valentines Day. This made me think of three things: Flowers, love, and Chocolate (Dark chocolate, of course). Therefore the name of this blog was created. Although I did not receive any flowers this lovely Valentine's Day, I did receive chocolate and I am always very loved, so it seemed like the perfect name.

A little about me: First let me begin by explaining I am a follower of a gracious God. He is everything to me and I worship him every day for blessing me so much with such wonderful family and friends. They mean everything to me.

I dont know what I would do without my wonderful family. They are always there for me whenever I need them and they have taught me everything I know.

The best friends: Ericka and Whitney. All I can say is that without them, my life would be dull. They read me all too well and we all enjoy eating cookies way too much. You dont even know! We do everything together and are all looking forward to moving to Denton next year for college. :)

Then there is my wonderful sister. Natalie knows me better than anyone else and she reads me like a book. I cannot wait to live with here in Denton next year! She is the best sister I could ever have :) I also had a brother named James, who was died when I was 10 years old. Every moment with him while he was alive was a blessing. He blessed more people in the 14 years he was here on earth than I could hope to bless in a lifetime.

Well thats a little about me, so how about I end with a little about my weekend. Friday I headed up to Denton to hang out with my lovely sis. We went over to the clubhouse where we had a pancake party (very fun), where I was reunited with one of my favorite foods: nutella. I got to meet many more of Natalie's Denton friends and we had lots of fun cooking. Saturday, me and Nat baked some adorable sugar cookies for valentines day so nat could give them to her neighbors. We made quite a mess, but they came out quite lovely. Then, after a wonderful stir-fry lunch with the parents, we headed back home to Granbury, leaving Natalie to deliver her valentine gifts alone. That night, we watched "Sense and Sensibility." My reason for this: We had been watching it in class and with the snow day had not had the opportunity to finish.

And now for today: This morning I woke up to the find it to be quite freezing outside. After bundling up as much as I could, I readied myself for church and we began on our way. I always love Sundays. Church is so refreshing. Today we had a baseball star whom our pastor interviewed. It really touched our hearts as he explained his story. God works in ways that we cant even begin to imagine. After church let out, we headed over to my grandmas house for a lovely lunch, which leads me to now. :)

Let me end with this: "4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." - 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7

Seems appropriate to end with such a verse, it being Valentine's day and all.
